PerformancePoint Dashboard Designer 2013 – Analysis Services Database Not Showing After Specifying SQL AS Server

While on site recently, doing a Project Server 2013 Installation, I had problems getting PerformancePoint to work. In this article, the Analysis Services database would not appear after entering the SQL AS Server name.

To sort this with SharePoint / Project Server 2013, we need to download PowerPivot for SharePoint 2013. This used to be in the SP 2010 Pre Reqs but is no longer with 2013. This has to be installed on all SharePoint Servers in the farm;

We then navigate to Microsoft Office Servers\15.0\WebServices\PpsMonitoringServer and refer to the below text.

<runtime>
<assemblyBinding xmlns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1″>
<dependentAssembly>
<assemblyIdentity name=”Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient” publicKeyToken=”89845dcd8080cc91″ culture=”neutral” />
<bindingRedirect oldVersion=”9.0.0.0″ newVersion=”10.0.0.0″ />
</dependentAssembly>
</assemblyBinding>
</runtime>

We need to change the oldVersion from 9.0.0.0 to 10.0.0.0 and the newVersion from 10.0.0.0 to 11.0.0.0. This should be done on all SP Servers. It should look like this instead;

<runtime>
<assemblyBinding xmlns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1″>
<dependentAssembly>
<assemblyIdentity name=”Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient” publicKeyToken=”89845dcd8080cc91″ culture=”neutral” />
<bindingRedirect oldVersion=”10.0.0.0″ newVersion=”11.0.0.0″ />
</dependentAssembly>
</assemblyBinding>
</runtime>

This should then allow the database to appear so you can select what you want to report from.
